Description

This is a two storied concrete structure with an unsupported span of 100 feet to replace a unique 120 feet span single storied aging steel structure.

The execution of the project seemed a mammoth task right from the design phase. 20 feet high shuttering had to be designed to support 2100 tons of concrete and steel. Form work design consultant recommended scaffolding design that costed very high and could not be accomplished due to cost, material availability and time constraints. Our engineers improvised the design with a creative solution and tested it in the laboratory before implementing at the site.

With no buffer space available around the construction site, placing the fabricated steel with the huge cranes was a big challenge. Pouring 680 cubic meters of concrete in 8 hours in the night and bad weather is not an ordinary feat. We even helped client avoided the planned plastering work due to our concrete cast quality.
